December Challenge # 24: By The Chimney With Care

2013-12-24 By The Chimney With Care
Looking at the challenge list, I had no idea what this meant. Sometimes not being a native speaker can have its disadvantages. I googled it and came up with the information that this is part of a Christmas poem by Clement Clarke Moore called ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas.

Today’s challenge is a line from the 1st verse:

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

If you don’t know it, you can listen to this poem here.

It still amazes me what you can learn sort of accidentally. I didn’t grow up with Christmas poems, but reading this one made me think about what it would have been like.
