Even in summer, it’s not easy to get tomatoes that don’t just look but also taste good. It’s really hit and miss, and it’s also inevitable to be disappointed more often than I’d like. I prefer the vine-ripened cocktail tomatoes to the larger species and have had both tasteless ones as well as excellent ones this summer. There’s nothing for it but try, try, try…

This year I have a tomato plant growing on my balcony, and the first red ones are finally ready for picking; I hope they’ll taste great what with all the love and care I’ve invested in them πŸ™‚ .

  1. Sooo many tasteless tomatoes! They need to be picked too early and cooled down too much to make sure they are fresh when they arrive at the supermarket. The best ones I had were home grown.

    And how did they taste?!
